The Gate of Charles V, also called Porta Mayor or Porta do Castelo da Ponte, is one of the three doors that are preserved from the old mural of the village of Viveiro, in the province of Lugo, built in 1548 by the work of Pedro Pedroso. It was carried out in homage to Charles V, replacing an earlier one from the thirteenth century, which due to the erosive action of the mareas and the historical avatars had been deteriorating.
