The door of Carlos V, also called the Porta Maior or Porta do Castelo da Ponte is one of the three doors that are preserved of the old wall of the town of Viveiro, in the province of Lugo, built in 1548 by the work of Pedro Pedroso. It was made in honor of Carlos V replacing another previous 13th century, which because of the erosive action of the tides and historical avatars had been deteriorated.

The Porta do Valado is one of the three doors that remain standing, out of a total of five that were part of the old walled enclosure of the town of Viveiro. This building has been considered since 1949 as an Asset of Cultural Interest within the catalogue of monuments of the historical heritage of Spain.
