Individual Sights in MataróSight 1: Ciutat romana d'Iluro
Iluro is the ancient Roman city on the Mediterranean coast currently called Mataró. The archaeological remains of the Roman settlement are preserved under the old town of the city.
Sight 2: Església de Santa Maria
The Basilica of Santa Maria de Mataró is a church located in Mataró (Maresme). It was from 1675, with references to its existence dating back to 1008. It has been declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest. Before the current temple there was a Romanesque church and even before that a temple of Roman origin.
Sight 3: Esglesia de Sant Josep
Sant Joan i Sant Josep de Mataró is a church in the municipality of Mataró (Maresme) located on Carrer de Sant Josep. It is a work included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
Sight 4: Sala Cabanyes
The Sala Cabanyes is the theatre of the Catholic Centre, located on Carrer de la Riera in Mataró. Every year Els Pastorets de Mataró are performed. It is named after the architect Emili Cabanyes i Rabassa (1850-1917), former president and promoter of the Catholic Centre.
Sight 5: Teatre Monumental
The Monumental Theatre is a theatre space located at Carrer La Riera, núm. 169, in Mataró, (Maresme). It has a stable theatre and dance programme throughout the year. Films are also screened in their original version.
Sight 6: Parc Central
Mataró Central Park is a landscaped area in the city of Mataró (Maresme) protected as a cultural asset of local interest.
