Alameda Dom Afonso Henriques is a street and garden in Lisbon. It was built in honor of the first king of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques. It has just over three hectares, and consists of a small garden at the eastern top, then extending into two large grassy tablelands divided by Avenida Almirante Reis; at the western top is located the Instituto Superior Técnico. Separating the garden from the grassy trays is the Luminous Fountain, one of the greatest monumental works of the Estado Novo.
