De Windhond is a small windmill on the Zaanse Schans in the municipality of Zaanstad. The mill was built in 1890 by Jan Zwart as a birthday present for his 7-year-old son Tijmen. These kinds of mills were often built for the youth, who could use them to trade in chipping stones. The Greyhound is the last original brick mill in the Zaan region.
Sight 3: Museum Zaanse Tijd
Museum Zaanse Tijd is a clock museum located in the Zaanse Schans in the municipality of Zaanstad in North Holland. The collection consists of Zaan and Dutch clocks, timepieces and watches. Special attention is paid to the Zaan clock from the Golden Age, which has been popular in several periods since then. The museum is housed in a 17th-century monumental sailcloth weaver's house, brought over from Assendelft, furnished with period rooms.

De Bleeke Dood, also known as De Dood, is one of the two remaining flour mills in the Zaan region. The mill is located in Zaandijk diagonally opposite the Zaanse Schans, on the corner of Guisweg / Lagedijk. This mill on the Zaan is the oldest surviving wooden tower mill in the Netherlands.

Sight 7: Zaanse Schans
Zaanse Schans is a neighbourhood of Zaandam, near Zaandijk, Netherlands. It is best known for its collection of historic windmills and wooden houses that were relocated here from the wider region north of Amsterdam for preservation. From 1961 to 1974, old buildings from all over the region known as the Zaanstreek were relocated using lowboy trailers to Zaanse Schans. Two of the windmills in Zaanse Schans are preserved on their original site where they were first constructed, and therefore do not constitute part of the relocated structures. The Zaans Museum, established in 1994, near the first Zaanse Schans windmill, is located south of the neighbourhood. This architectural reserve for Zaanse timber construction is a protected village scene because of its architectural-historical and landscape value. It developed into an international tourist destination with several million visitors every year: in 2016, there were 1.8 million, in 2017 – 2.2 million.
Sight 8: De Kat
De Kat is the only remaining working windmill in the world which makes paint. The mill is in the Zaanse Schans, Zaanstad.
