The monument on the Haarlemmerweg is a monument for war victims, placed on the Haarlemmerweg, Amsterdam Nieuw-West between the foot and bicycle bridges Burgemeester Eliasstraat and Burgemeester Fockstraat. Police officer Elias father and son Verkuijl were shot here by the German occupier as a retribution for a resistance act on the Amsterdam-Haarlem railway. They were buried after the war at the Honor Cemetery Bloemendaal.
