The church and convent of the Capuchins of Teramo, a complex already dedicated to St. Benedict, was built, according to the historian Francesco Savini, before 1150. After 1573 it was assigned to the care of the Capuchin Fathers, when it was also known as the church of the Immaculate Conception. It has been a national monument since 1902.
