Frank Böttcher was a teenager from Magdeburg who was the victim of an attack by right-wing extremist youths on the night of February 7 to 8, 1997. There was a dispute about how the act should be considered politically motivated and recorded in police statistics. In memory of Böttcher's death, demonstrations against right-wing extremism are regularly held in Magdeburg.
Sight 2: Großsteingrab Kleiner Silberberg
The Kleiner Silberberg is a hill with a height of 59 m in the area of the city of Magdeburg. It contained a Stone Age megalithic tomb.
Sight 3: Gedenkstele Zigeunerlager Magdeburg Holzweg
The Magdeburg Holzweg gypsy camp was set up by the city of Magdeburg in May 1935 and received increasing compulsory character in the course of National Socialism. The camp was dissolved on March 1, 1943 by deporting the residents into the "Auschwitz gypsy camp" due to the Auschwitz decree.
