The Lindauer Heating is a late Gothic panel picture of an artist who was known by name, who received the emergency name "Master of the Lindauer Wear" from this work. The picture, which was created between 1410 and 1420, was painted on softwood in Eitem Tempera and is one of the important works of the Lake Constance painting of the beginning of the 15th century. It is in possession of the city art collections of the city of Lindau (Lake Constance) and is shown in the permanent exhibition of the city museum in the Haus Zum Cavazzen.

St. Peter's Church is the oldest sacred building in the Bavarian-Swabian town of Lindau (Lake Constance). The church, which is Romanesque in its core, now profaned, dates back to the 11th century and is of supra-regional importance due to late Gothic wall paintings – often, but unconfirmed, attributed to Hans Holbein the Elder. It stands on the western edge of the old town on the island of Lindau and has housed a war memorial since the 1920s.

It is the capital of the county (Landkreis) of Lindau, Bavaria and is near the borders of the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, and the Swiss cantons of St. Gallen and Thurgau. The coat of arms of Lindau town is a linden tree, referring to the supposed origin of the town's name.
