Individual Sights in GreifswaldSight 1: St. Marien-Kirche
The Protestant St. Mary's Church is the oldest of the three large city churches of the Hanseatic city of Greifswald. It can be assigned to the North German Brick Gothic. With 3,100 members, the Protestant parish is the largest in the city.
Sight 2: Dom St. Nikolai
St. Nikolai, Greifswald, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of seafarers and merchants, is a Brick Gothic church located in the western part of the centre of Greifswald. It was the main church and seat of the bishop of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church.
Sight 3: Rubenow-Denkmal
The Rubenow monument in the Hanseatic city of Greifswald was ceremoniously unveiled in honour of the mayor of the city and co-founder of the University of Greifswald, Heinrich Rubenow, on 17 October 1856.

The St. Jacobi Church is located on the western edge of Greifswald's old town.
Sight 5: Sternwarte
The Greifswald Observatory is an observatory that has existed at the University of Greifswald since 1924 and was used for scientific research from its establishment until the Second World War. Since 1992, it has also been run as a public observatory and maintained by a non-profit association. In addition to academic teaching, it mainly serves amateur astronomy and the astronomical education of students and laypeople through guided tours, lectures and exhibitions.
Sight 6: Propsteikirche St. Joseph
The Roman Catholic Provost Church of St. Joseph in Greifswald is a neo-Gothic brick building and is located on the southern edge of Greifswald's old town on the corner of Bahnhofstraße and Rubenowstraße. It bears the patronage of St. Joseph of Nazareth, the bridegroom of Mary, the mother of Jesus.
