Ritzebüttel Castle in Cuxhaven was the residence of the Hamburg bailiffs during the time of Ritzebüttel's affiliation to Hamburg. The castle, some of which dates back to the 14th century, is one of the oldest surviving secular buildings of North German Brick Gothic in the region and is now open to visitors.

The Windstarke 10 – Wreck and Fishing Museum Cuxhaven is a museum in Cuxhaven. It is located in two former fish processing halls and a new building connecting the halls. On a total area of about 4000 m², it shows the challenges and dangers of seafaring as well as an overview of 100 years of fishing history. The exhibition includes part of the collections of the former wreck museum.

The sea rescue boat (SRB) Swantje was a boat of the so-called 7-meter class of the German Maritime Search and Rescue Service (DGzRS). It was built in 1971 by the Evers shipyard in Niendorf.
