Individual Sights in DoleSight 1: Monument Pasteur
The monument to Louis Pasteur is a bronze sculpted group erected in honor of Louis Pasteur in Dole in the French department of Jura, where his birthplace is located. The monument was inaugurated in 1902 on the Cours Saint-Mauris and its construction was financed by an international subscription. Its sculptor was Antonin Carlès and its architect Léon Chifflot.
Sight 2: Temple maçonnique
The Masonic Temple of Dole is a gathering place for Freemasons, erected in the third quarter of the nineteenth century, in Dole, in the Jura department and the Franche-Comté region, under the direction of the architect Philippe Ruffier. The building is listed as a historical monument by decree of December 8, 2009.
Sight 3: Collégiale Notre-Dame
The collegiate church of Notre-Dame de Dole is the main church of the town of Dole, in Franche-Comté. Attached to the diocese of Saint-Claude, it serves the parish of Notre-Dame, in the parish sector of Dole-ville.
Sight 4: Fontaine Attiret
The Fontaine Attiret, or Fontaine d'Arans, or Fontaine de la Porte d'Arans, is a public fountain located on Rue des Arènes, in Dole, in the French department of Jura.
Sight 5: Couvent des Cordeliers de Dole
The Convent of the Cordeliers of Dole is a former Franciscan convent, erected from 1392, rebuilt in 1572, and restored around 1720, in Dole, in the current department of Jura and Franche-Comté. Until 2017, it housed the Dole courthouse. The building has been the subject of several registrations and classification as historical monuments since 1913.
Sight 6: Théâtre municipal de Dole
The Théâtre de Dole is an Italian-style municipal theatre of neo-classical architecture built between 1840 and 1843 in the upper part of the town of Dole, in the Jura. Owned by the City, the performance hall has been managed by the Scènes du Jura since 1997, and regularly hosts dance shows, concerts and theatrical performances. Closed in 2015 for renovation, the building reopened in November 2021.
