Sightseeing Tours in Blanes1. Sant Joan Baptista
The Hermitage of Sant Joan de Blanes is a church in the municipality of Blanes (Selva). It is located on top of the hill of the same name next to the castle of Sant Joan, of which it was the chapel but due to the lack of space it had to be located outside the enclosure. For St. John it says mass. It is documented as early as the thirteenth century and in 1377 it is recorded that there was a priest in the castle who looked after it. During the seventeenth century it was a center of pilgrimage for the day of St. John the Baptist. In 1959 a restoration was carried out in which the roof was redone and the artist from Blanes Maria Teresa Bedós painted the frescoes inside. In 1991 it was restored again with the rehabilitation of the castle. It is a work included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
2. Castell de Sant Joan
The castle of Sant Joan is a castle above the hill of Sant Joan in Blanes in Romanesque style. Above the wall is an extraordinary view from its 173 m in height. On clear days, the dominant territory is very extensive and on the south you can see the silhouette of the Montjuïc mountain in Barcelona. Possession of the viscounts of Cabrera, it is mentioned for the first time in 1002. Currently the magnificent round master tower stands. It is a work declared a cultural asset of national interest.
3. Santuari del Vilar
The Sanctuary of the Mare de Déu del Vilar is a sanctuary in the municipality of Blanes (Selva) located in the Sierra de Marina, which acts as an important center of attraction for the whole region. The homonymous joys are a song in honor of the Virgin that dates back to the seventeenth century. The building is a work included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
