The monument to the glorious defenders of Poltava and the commandant of the fortress Alexei Kelin is a monument in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Poltava in Poltava. The monument was erected on June 27, 1909 on the site of the 4th bastion of the Poltava fortress. It is located at the corner of Pervomaiskoy Avenue, Shevchenko and Sadovaya streets. The monument is a granite obelisk on a pedestal. In 1947-1949, they were re-cast in Leningrad and installed, the height of the monument was increased. It was restored in 1949.
