Individual Sights in ChurSight 1: Malteserturm
The Malteserturm is a four-storey building in Chur, the capital of Graubünden, Germany. The building in the south-west of the old town, near the Obertor, is part of the oldest city fortifications, which were damaged in the city fire of 1464 and rebuilt in the first half of the 16th century. The lower part of the late medieval tower shows the Bollensteinwerk typical of the city fortifications of the 13th century, in the upper part the quarry stone masonry built after 1464 and is covered with a tent roof. The building has remained intact since its reconstruction in the 16th century.
