Individual Sights in VästeråsSight 1: Minnesmärke
On 26 December 2004, at 07:58:53 local time (UTC+7), a major earthquake with a magnitude of 9.1–9.3 Mw struck with an epicentre off the west coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The undersea megathrust earthquake, known by the scientific community as the Sumatra–Andaman earthquake, was caused by a rupture along the fault between the Burma Plate and the Indian Plate, and reached a Mercalli intensity up to IX in some areas.
Sight 2: Johannes Rudbeckius
Johannes Rudbeckius is a sculpture by Carl Milles, which was inaugurated on 14 June 1923. It is located on Domkyrkoplan in front of Västerås Cathedral and close to the Rudbeckian Gymnasium.
Sight 3: Västerås Cathedral
Västerås Cathedral is the seat of the Diocese of Västerås in the Province of Västmanland, Sweden. The church building is a five-tiered cathedral, with copper-covered roof as well as a west tower with side extensions and an obelisk-shaped, copper-clad spire. It is built in the Scandinavian Brick Gothic style.
Sight 4: Botaniska trädgården
Rudbeckianska gymnasiet is an upper secondary school in Västerås, Sweden, located next to the city library and the cathedral. The school consists of Hallskolan, the Old Main Building, the Old Annex, the New Annex, the Old Gymnasium and the New Gymnasium. In 2020, the number of students was approximately 1,300, making the upper secondary school the largest in Västerås.

Sight 6: Djäkneberget
Djäkneberget is a park area just west of Västerås inner city. The area is about 500 meters long and 250 meters wide. The park is located on a mountain height overlooking, among other things, the cathedral, the City Hall, Skrapan and part of Lake Mälaren. Adjacent to the park is the Djäkneberg School, a primary school that was inaugurated in 1894 and that today houses Västerås Folk High School and Västerås Art School.
