The commission was made by the Iglesias Òdena brothers -spelled as Yglesias-, owners of the "Manufacturera de Algodón", an important factory of cotton spinning and fabrics popularly known as Vapor Vell, and it was completed in 1902. It is popularly known as Casa Punyed, because of the pharmacy of that name that occupied the ground floor, which was installed in 1908 by Artur Punyed Lloveras.
