Individual Sights in MontblancSight 1: Ermita de Sant Josep
The hermitage of Sant Josep de Montblanc, in Conca de Barberà, is a very visited natural space, a place for gatherings and for campers to gather. Hermitage of small dimensions and great structural simplicity. Basically, the interest lies in the stone voussoired doorway and an engraved stone above, where an angel is represented. Built during the first third of the eighteenth century promoted by the merchant Francesc Sabater. During the nineteenth century it was owned by the Gassol family. In the course of the Spanish Civil War it was destroyed and remained abandoned for a few years. Thanks to the initiative and personal effort of Josep Civit i Solé it was rebuilt. Subsequently, the municipal administration has taken care of the maintenance of the area.
Sight 2: Portal de Sant Jordi
The walled enclosure of Montblanc is formed by the set of towers, gates and walls that surround the historic center of the town of Montblanc, in the Catalan region of Conca de Barberà. It has been declared a cultural asset of national interest: the fortified enclosure in the category of historical monument and the intramural complex as a historical complex.
Sight 3: Museu-Arxiu de Montblanc
The Casal dels Josa or Cal Portuguès is a Gothic building in Montblanc dating from the thirteenth century and today houses the headquarters of the entity Museum-Archive of Montblanc and region, founded in 1958. The Casal is located on Carrer Josa, 6, within the walled enclosure of Montblanc and sheltered by the church of Santa Maria.
Sight 4: Sant Miquel
Sant Miquel de Montblanc is a church in the town of Montblanc. It served as a parish before and during the construction of the Archpriest of St. Mary. Catalan Cortes were held here in 1307, 1333 and 1370 and it is a building protected as a cultural asset of local interest.
Sight 5: Sant Francesc de Montblanc
The convent of Sant Francesc de Montblanc, could have been founded at the end of the third decade of the thirteenth century, perhaps where it is now or nearby and in a simple interim building. In any case, we cannot speak of extramurs simply because, at that time, the walls were not yet there. Of the old convent only the church remains.
Sight 6: Museu Molins de la Vila
The Molins de la Vila Museum is a museum of Montblanc integrated within the compendium of the Museu Comarcal de la Conca de Barberà (MCCB), open to the public since 1994.
