Individual Sights in ZoetermeerSight 1: Ichthus
The Ichthuskerk is a Protestant church in Seghwaert in Zoetermeer. The church was designed by architects Verdonk & Huurman and built in 1981.
Sight 2: Vredekerk
Sight 3: Sint-Nicolaas
The Nicolaaskerk is the third church at its current location at Dorpsstraat 24 in the old center of Zoetermeer. After the use of a hidden church on the Voorweg, two plots of land could be bought here after the Batavian Republic and the first church for the parish was built. It became so bad in a short time that a completely new church was needed in 1857. After some time, this church turned out to be too small and on March 17, 1915, the foundation stone was laid for the current one. In 1916 the church was consecrated by the bishop Augustinus Callier of Haarlem. The current Nicholas Church is a national monument.
Sight 4: Oude Kerk
Oude Kerk in Zoetermeer is a reformed church in the old heart of the village, built in the period 1785-1787 by the Italian architect Jan Giudici. The church is of the cruciform type of church, although from the outside the church appears square. It is Zoetermeer's oldest building, with the tower from 1642, and the brick base from the 15th century. There was probably already a church on this site of the current old church in 1296. The old church at Dorpsstraat 59 has been a national monument since its restoration in 1970 by Piet van de Sterre from Leiderdorp.
Sight 5: Adventskerk
The Advent Church is a relatively new church in the old village of Zoetermeer in the Dutch province of South Holland. On April 10, 1954, the members' meeting took the decision to buy the land. The church was designed by architect A. van Eck Wzn. from Voorburg. The design is in line with the Delft school. It was built in the period from the beginning of August to the beginning of December 1955 by contractor Bontebal from Zoetermeer. The church was inaugurated on December 20, 1955. In 2006 the building was placed on the list of municipal monuments by the municipality of Zoetermeer.
Sight 6: Morgensterkerk
The Morgensterkerk is a church building in the "Dorp" district of Zoetermeer.
Sight 7: Kerkelijk Centrum De Oase
Ecclesiastical centre De Oase in the Dutch city of Zoetermeer at Kerkenbos 8 used to be a neglected gymnasium with associated changing rooms and shower rooms. This was bought in 1999 for f 292,000 from the municipality of Zoetermeer. After a renovation, the centre was officially opened in February 2000 for the benefit of the Protestant community of De Oase. With this, this congregation returned to the location where the first worship services took place between 1972 and 1976, in the 'Aanloopcentrum'. In the intervening period, church was held in the municipal community center in the Meerzicht district, which was demolished in 2001. J. Bouwmeester acted as designer and construction expert. The building covers approx. 550 m².
