Kasteel Erenstein

Erenstein Castle is located north of the hamlet of Ham in the municipality of Kerkrade in Dutch Limburg in the Anstel Valley. Erenstein is a corruption of the family name Van Ederen, as it was also used by knight Adam van Ederen. The suffix stein means 'fortified stone house'. 'Ederen' was almost immediately shortened to 'Eren'.

The Roman Villa Kaalheide is a Roman villa on the Krichelberg near Kaalheide in Spekholzerheide in the Limburg municipality of Kerkrade in the Netherlands. The villa is located on Krichelstraat and is of the Villa Rustica type, of which at least a hundred (partly) have been dug up in South Limburg. The villa was situated on a plateau of the Plateau of Spekholzerheide that leans down quite steeply here on the edge of the stream valley of the Vloedgraaf/Anselderbeek.
