The war memorial in Hoensbroek consists of a statue of a woman, with a little boy at her feet. The statue stands on a pedestal with a plaque. The monument was designed by Charles Vos in the early 1950s and was unveiled on 3 May 1953 on the corner of Marktstraat and Hoofdstraat in the centre of the then independent municipality of Hoensbroek, now the municipality of Heerlen. The monument is located next to the Little St. John's Church.
