Sight 1: De Hoop

De Hoop is a shore and flour mill built in 1764 in the city of Gorinchem, in the Dutch province of South Holland. This tower mill stands on the city wall on the Boven-Merwede and can be seen clearly from the water. It took more than a hundred years before the mill was given a name: in 1879 the until then nameless mill was given the name "De Hoop" by the then new owner A.J. van de Water.

Sight 2: Dalempoort

The Dalem Gate in the city of Gorinchem, in the Dutch province of South Holland, is the only remaining city gate of the original four that the fortified city had after the improvement of the ramparts that was completed in 1609. The other three were the Pulpit Gate, the Arkel Gate, and the Water Gate; These have been demolished to make room for the growing traffic. Today, the Dalempoort still functions as a protection mechanism in the event of high water by means of a denomination, which can be closed as part of the New Dutch Waterline.

TOP Gorinchem

A Tourist Transfer Point (TOP) is a 'natural junction', where various cycling, sailing, skating and walking routes start. Each TOP is recognizable by its landmark, a kind of obelisk is used in the east of the country, a blade of grass in the Green Heart and a remarkably large information column in the Gooi & Vecht region and the Rivierenland region. At TOPs there are often also some seats, a bicycle rack and a signpost. TOPs in the Gooi & Vecht region are also always equipped with bicycle rental, catering, (free) toilets, an ANWB Bicycle Service Box and a VVV information point.

Gorcums Museum

The Gorcums Museum is the municipal museum of the city of Gorinchem, in the Dutch province of South Holland. It has a collection about the history of the city and a collection of modern art. Works by various seventeenth-century painters from Gorinchem are also on display. There are regular temporary exhibitions. In the museum, the history and stories of the city are told, such as the martyrs of Gorcum, the fortress, the battle against the water, and mayor Rappard.

Sight 5: Grote Kerk

The Great Church of Gorinchem is located on the Groenmarkt in the old center of the city of Gorinchem, in the Dutch province of South Holland. The Grote Kerk is built against the Grote Toren, which is popularly called St. John's Tower. The church is used by the Protestant District Congregation Grote Kerk, affiliated with the Protestant Church in the Netherlands (PKN). The church and the tower are included in the register of national monuments.
