Sight 2: Red Mill (1873)
The building of the former steam mill, colloquially called Red Mill, is a non-functional steam mill, architectural monument of local value located on the street with the same name in Chisinau. The building is included in the Register of monuments of history and culture of Chisinau municipality, compiled by the Academy of Sciences. It was built in the late nineteenth – early twentieth centuries, in eclectic style. Once one of the tallest buildings in the historic area of Pushkin Hill, it was part of an industrial complex, but now it has remained alone, isolated from related constructions.

The National Theatre "Eugène Ionesco" is one of the main theatres in Chisinau. It was founded shortly after the proclamation of Moldova's independence on September 11, 1991. The theater was created at the initiative of a team of actors, recent graduates of the Shchuikin Theater School in Moscow, headed by Petru Vutcarau. Eugène Ionesco personally agreed that the new theatre should bear his name, this being the first trophy obtained by the descendants of the Vakhtangovian school. The well-known Bessarabian director and actor Petru Vutcărău was the first director and artistic director of the theater, currently being the director of the theater.
