Sight 2: Domus del chirurgo
The surgeon's domus is a Roman house of the second half of the second century, discovered in 1989 in Rimini in Piazza Luigi Ferrari, and opened to the public on December 7, 2007; mosaics, frescoes and artifacts have been found here, including one of the most complete series of surgical instruments from the Roman age, preserved in the Museum of the city of Rimini. The archaeological site of the surgeon's domus also brings to light subsequent archaeological stratigraphies, including walls from the imperial age, a palatial dwelling and part of an early medieval Byzantine house.
