Sight 11: Chiesa di Santa Lucia
The parish of Santa Lucia was founded by archbishop's decree on 10 April 1629 by Archbishop Annibale D'Afflitto. Its boundaries were enlarged in 1783 by Monsignor Capobianco and from 1798 it was considered an urban parish. The current church, in Renaissance style, was built in 1930 to a design by the Carmelite Father Cesare Umberto Angelini and is located in the center of the city in Via XXV Luglio. The church has three naves and is preceded by a large staircase that allows access from Via De Nava.
