Sight 2: Kreuzgang - Chiostro
The cloister of Brixen Cathedral is one of the most important art monuments in South Tyrol. It was built in pre-Romanesque times and was later redesigned in Romanesque and Gothic styles. With the adjacent buildings – including Brixen Cathedral, St. John's Chapel and Frauenkirche – the cloister represents the centre of the cathedral district. It is famous above all for its frescoes from the Gothic period.

The Cathedral of Brixen is a cathedral in the city of Brixen, South Tyrol, Italy. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and to Cassian of Imola. Since the foundation it has been the episcopal see of the Diocese of Brixen. In 1964, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bolzano-Brixen was created, and the see was moved to Bolzano. The cathedral currently has the status of minor basilica.

The parish church of St. Michael is the Roman Catholic church of the parish and deanery of Brixen in South Tyrol. It is located in a prominent location north of Brixen Cathedral at Domplatz 12. The church is dedicated to the Archangel Michael. It was traditionally the church of the Brixen citizenry.
