The cathedral of Brindisi, officially the pontifical cathedral basilica of Brindisi or the cathedral of Brindisi or the basilica of the Visitation and St. John the Baptist, was consecrated by Pope Urban II in 1089 and completed in 1143. It has the dignity of a minor basilica.

Sight 6: Vasche Limarie
The limarie basins of Brindisi were tanks for settling and sedimenting water from wells outside the city which, thanks to the natural pressure, fed some of the city's fountains. They thus constituted the terminal part of the Roman aqueduct that brought water from Vito's Well to Brundisium, through a path partly underground and partly elevated.
Sight 7: Porta Mesagne
The Porta mesagne is the oldest entrance gate to Brindisi. The medieval gate was built in the foundations of the forewall, built in Roman times by Mark Antony, for the defense of the city from earth.
