The Gizella Chapel is the oldest building of Veszprém. The Archbishop's Palace in Veszprém is one of the most significant buildings of the castle in Veszprém. The building was built between 1765 and 1776 according to the plans of Jakab Fellner. The Bishop's Palace – since 1993 – is one of the outstanding masterpieces of Hungarian Baroque architecture. The building, typically in Baroque style, forms a U-shape. The remains of the old buildings were incorporated into the palace, and then the remaining ruins of the old royal or old bishop's palace disappeared. Its library has about 60,000 volumes.
