The Thousand-year Rose, also known as the Rose of Hildesheim, grows on the apse of the Hildesheim Cathedral, a Catholic cathedral in Hildesheim, Germany, that is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. The cathedral and the adjacent St. Michael's Church have been on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 1985.

Sight 3: Bugenhagenbrunnen
The Bugenhagen Fountain is a monument created by Ulrich Henn, which was inaugurated on Whit Sunday 1995 on Andreasplatz in Hildesheim. It is dedicated to Johannes Bugenhagen, who gave the first Protestant sermon in St. Andrew's Church on September 1, 1542. It was financed by the Friedrich Weinhagen Foundation in Hildesheim. The fountain is 7.5 meters high and has a diameter of 8 meters. It is cast in bronze. In the work of art, the artist did not so much depict Bugenhagen as a person, but his work – "updated", as Johannes Brockhoff writes.

The church of St. Andreas is the principal Lutheran church of Hildesheim, Germany, not to be confounded with the Catholic Hildesheim Cathedral. Its tower is 114.5 metres (376 ft) tall, making it the tallest church tower in Lower Saxony; it is accessible and offers a panoramic view of both the city and surrounding countryside.

St. Lamberti is a parish and church in Hildesheim, Germany, the parish of the town's Neustadt. It is named after Lambert of Maastricht, the patron saint of Hildesheim. The church is a late Gothic building, the only hall church of the town. Since the Reformation, it has been a Lutheran parish church. It is situated in the Goschenstraße, on the Neustädter Markt.
