Robert Schad created the sculpture Die Spur in 2018 for the Institute for Disease Modelling and Targeted Medicine (IMITATE) at the University Medical Center Freiburg. It was erected in the presence of the artist at the end of April 2021 between the institute building and the sidewalk of Breisacher Straße 113 in the Stühlinger district of Freiburg im Breisgau.
