Individual Sights in ChessySight 1: Phantom Manor
Phantom Manor is a dark ride attraction in Frontierland at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris. Phantom Manor is the park's version of The Haunted Mansion attractions at Disneyland, Magic Kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland, although it is designed to be darker in tone compared to other Haunted Mansion rides. It opened with Euro Disneyland on April 12, 1992. The attraction combines a walk-through portion with Omnimover vehicles and features special effects and Audio-Animatronics. This version of the ride has a distinct plot, compared to the largely ambiguous story lines of the other Haunted Mansion attractions in Disney parks. The ride also features a unique orchestral soundtrack, differing from the American and Japanese versions.
Sight 2: Grand Canyon Diorama
The Disneyland Railroad is a steam railroad encircling the Disneyland theme park. Known as the Disneyland & Santa Fe Railroad from 1955 to 1974, it was sponsored by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway. It took its new name on October 1, 1974.
Sight 3: Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing
Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing is an attraction at Disneyland Park. It is a steamboat with a paddle wheel on the sides built on a 5/8th scale and fully functional. It is the only boat of its kind in all the Disney parks.
Sight 4: Rustler Roundup Shootin' Gallery
Frontierland Shootin' Arcade was an attraction in Walt Disney World which simulates a shootout in Tombstone, Arizona, over Boot Hill in 1850. The gallery included a jail, hotel, bank, and cemetery with a total of 97 targets which are animated when shot. After over 50 years of operation, it was closed in 2024.
Sight 5: Disneyland Park
Disneyland Park, originally Euro Disneyland Park, is a theme park found at Disneyland Paris in Marne-la-Vallée, France. The park opened on 12 April 1992 as the first of the two parks built at the resort. Designed and built by Walt Disney Imagineering, its layout is similar to Disneyland Park in California and Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World in Florida. Spanning 56.656 ha —the second largest Disney park based on the original, after Shanghai Disneyland Park—it is dedicated to fairy tales and Disney characters.
Sight 6: Orbitron, Astro Orbiter
The Astro Orbiter is a "rocket-spinner", aerial carousel-type attraction featured at five Disneyland-style parks and Walt Disney Resorts around the world, except for Tokyo Disneyland. Although each ride may have a slightly different name, all share the same experience of vehicles traveling through space, spinning around a central monument. In most forms of the ride, the use of a joystick enables guests to adjust the height of their individual cars at will, usually within a range of no more than 10-15 feet. When the ride cycle comes to its completion, any ascended vehicles are automatically lowered for passenger exit and re-boarding. Over the years, with each new iteration of the ride debuting, new designs, thematic schemes, and locations have been implemented to fit with the changing themes of several Tomorrowlands.
Sight 7: Les Mystères du Nautilus
Les Mystères du Nautilus is a walkthrough attraction at Disneyland Paris in France. It is an updated version of the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea walkthrough attraction that was at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA in the early 1950s, based upon the film of the same name. This attraction takes guests throughout the various rooms of Captain Nemo's submarine, especially those seen in the film. It opened on 4 July 1994.
Sight 8: Mickey et son Orchestre PhilharMagique
Mickey's PhilharMagic is a 4D film attraction found at several Disney theme parks around the world, including Magic Kingdom theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Park (Paris), and Disney California Adventure. The film was directed by George Scribner, who also directed Disney's 1988 animated film Oliver & Company. Mickey's PhilharMagic is a 12-minute-long show featuring 3D effects, scents, and water, as well as a number of characters from Disney movies. It is shown on the largest purpose-built 3D screen ever made, at 150 feet wide.
Sight 9: Star Tours: The Adventure Continues
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue is an attraction located at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris. Set in the Star Wars universe, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue takes passengers on a turbulent trip across the galaxy, as droids C-3PO and R2-D2 attempt to safely return a spy to the Rebel Alliance.
Sight 10: Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
Space Mountain is an enclosed roller coaster ride at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris. Designed by the teams of Walt Disney Imagineering, it was an adaptation of the Space Mountain attraction in the theme of Jules Verne's novels From the Earth to the Moon and Around the Moon. Considered a masterpiece thanks to its technology that synchronizes the audio on the trains with the route, it is also criticized for its lack of ambition compared to what is done in other Disney parks.
