The Abbey of Notre-Dame d'Argenteuil is originally a Benedictine monastery located in Argenteuil whose existence is attested as early as the seventh century. Attached in the twelfth century to the abbey of Saint-Denis, of which it became a male priory, it was destroyed during the French Revolution. According to tradition, the Holy Tunic was deposited there by Charlemagne in 803.
