Individual Sights in OuluSight 1: Pohjan neito
The Maiden of the North is a bronze statue cast by sculptor Viljo Savikurki in 1967 and part of the public sculpture collection of the City of Oulu. The work is considered one of the most successful outdoor sculptures of the Clay Crane. Pohjanmaa Oy donated the sculpture to the city to celebrate its 50th anniversary, and it was placed in front of the company's headquarters in Beattynpuisto, in the Vanhatulli district of the city centre. The dimensions of the sculpture are 140 × 56 × 166 cm.
Sight 2: Mannerheimin puisto
The Mannerheim Park is a small urban park in Vanhatulli district of Oulu, Finland. Renovations finished in 2019 changed the look of the park completely, and made it more suitable for small events. The park is a favorite hangout for many. The park is adjacent to the Kela building, and features a grill kiosk and a children's play area with rides and swings.
Sight 3: Oulun vapaaseurakunta
Oulu Free Parish is a free parish registered in 1926. The pastor of the church is Risto Wotschke. The parish's premises are located in the centre of Oulu on Kirkkokatu. The parish belongs to the Free Church of Finland.
Sight 4: Bobby at the Marketplace
Toripolliisi is a bronze sculpture located at the market square in Oulu, Finland. It was made by sculptor Kaarlo Mikkonen in 1987. The sculpture measures 220×150×112 centimetres, and it was named in honour of the bobbies that once patrolled the market place. The sculpture was funded with the help of a public fund raising started in 1985, and it was revealed in September 1987.
Sight 5: Hollihaka
Hollihaa Park is the second largest park in the centre of Oulu. The park covers about a third of the Hollihaa district in Oulu. The park is bordered on the west by the Oulujoki estuary, on the north by Sonnisaari and the old wooden town area of Kuusiluoto, on the east by the Oulu Sports Centre and Hollihaa daycare centre, and on the south by the apartment buildings along Puistokatu, the most prominent of which is the Nuottala apartment building.
