The Church of Santiago de Peñalba is a Catholic temple located in the Spanish town of Peñalba de Santiago, belonging to the municipality of Ponferrada, in the region of Bierzo, province of León, Autonomous Community of Castilla y León. It is one of the most representative architectural jewels of pre -Romanesque Mozarabic art, also considered as part of the fusion or leonese architecture. Built at the beginning of the 10th century by the initiative of San Genadio de Astorga, the abbot Solomon was inaugurated in 937. The Church is the only building that is standing at a monastic set today missing.
