Skalka near Trenčín is a ruins of a monastery in the cadastral area of the village of Opatová nad Váhom in the district of Trenčín. It is the oldest pilgrimage site in Slovakia. Baské, older also Baske, (954.9 m above sea level) is the top of the Strážov Hills. It lies above the village of Omšenie, approximately 13 km east of Trenčín. At the top there is a cottage of the same name with the possibility of accommodation.

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is a Roman Catholic church located in the village of Omšenie. It was built in the first half of the 13th century in the Romanesque style and rebuilt in 1802.

Laugaricio or Leugaricio or Leukaristos is the ancient name of a settlement from the 2nd century AD in the territory of today's Trenčín or from its immediate vicinity, which was an important political and economic center and strategic point in the Barbaric period above the middle Danube. In 179, 855 soldiers of the Second Auxiliary Roman Legion wintered here.
