1. Convento de Nossa Senhora do Desterro

The Convent of Our Lady of Exile is a former convent of the friars of the Third Order Regular of Saint Francis, located in the Municipality of Monchique, in the District of Faro, Portugal. It was founded in 1631, and features Manueline architecture. The building was badly damaged by the earthquake of 1755 and was later rebuilt. Later it was expropriated and divided into several plots, having been abandoned some time later, reaching an advanced state of ruin. The Convent complex also included a monumental magnolia, which was classified in 1947 but died in 2016.

The Alferce Castle, officially designated as the Archaeological Site of the Cerro do Castelo de Alferce, and also known as the Pedra Branca Castle, is a monument located in the parish of Alferce, part of the Municipality of Monchique, in the Algarve region of Portugal. It corresponds to an ancient fortified settlement from the Bronze Age, which was later transformed into a fortress during Muslim rule. The Castle was classified as a Site of Public Interest in 2013.

3. Caldas de Monchique

Caldas de Monchique is a spa town in the Monchique Mountains in the Algarve region of Portugal. It has been famous since Roman times for its waters, which supposedly have healing properties. It was also used as a seasonal retreat for Portuguese royalty. It has recently gained more international recognition, particularly for health tourism, but also for its landscape and architecture.
