The Jewish cemetery in Zabrze is a Jewish cemetery in Zabrze, located at Cmentarna Street. The cemetery was founded in 1872. The reason for its establishment was the establishment of a Jewish community in Zabrze and the difficulties in burying the dead, as the nearest cemeteries were located in Bytom and Gliwice at that time. The plot of land for the cemetery was donated to the Jewish community by Prince Guidon Henckel von Donnersmarck. Most of the matters related to the funeral ceremonies were handled by the Holy Brotherhood "Chevra Kadisha". The uniqueness of this Jewish cemetery stems from the juxtaposition of modest matzevot with monumental family tombs, which should be considered a symbol of the partial assimilation of the Jewish community with the Prussian one. The cemetery covers an area of about 2.2 hectares.
