4. Watermolen Molecaten

Show sight on map
Watermolen Molecaten

The watermill of Hattem-Molecaten is located southwest of Hattem on the estate near the Molecaten house. It is an overshot watermill that uses the water of local sprinklers. These provide the water supply for the reservoir in front of the mill. The mill is able to run but lacks water because no water from the 1 ha pond around the country house can be used. There is therefore a diversion directly from a spring to the mill. Before pumping can begin, the water must first be impounded.
