1. HNLMS Schorpioen

HNLMS Schorpioen

HNLMS Schorpioen is a Schorpioen-class monitor built in France for the Royal Netherlands Navy in the 1860s. These new ships were equipped with heavy rifled 23 cm (9 in) guns, and a heavy armor. The hull had an armor plated belt of 15 cm (6 in) and the gun turret, housing the two guns, had almost 30 cm (12 in) of armor.

2. TOP De Helderse Vallei

TOP De Helderse Vallei

A Tourist Transfer Point (TOP) is a 'natural junction', where various cycling, sailing, skating and walking routes start. Each TOP is recognizable by its landmark, a kind of obelisk is used in the east of the country, a blade of grass in the Green Heart and a remarkably large information column in the Gooi & Vecht region and the Rivierenland region. At TOPs there are often also some seats, a bicycle rack and a signpost. TOPs in the Gooi & Vecht region are also always equipped with bicycle rental, catering, (free) toilets, an ANWB Bicycle Service Box and a VVV information point.

3. Texel

The Dutch lightship Texel was built in 1951 by the Rijkswerf Willemsoord in Den Helder. The ship was in service from September 30, 1952 until early 1992. Since 1996, the lightship has been moored as a museum ship in the museum harbour of Willemsoord. It is managed by the Foundation for the History of Coastal Lighting under the name Museum Lichtschip Texel.

4. Fort Erfprins

Fort Erfprins is a nineteenth-century fort west of the Dutch city of Den Helder. With an area of 49 ha. Erfprins is the largest fort in the Netherlands. The fort was designated a national monument in June 1973.

5. Donkere Duinen

Donkere Duinen

The Dark Dunes is a forest in Den Helder in the Dutch province of North Holland. The forest is located in the west and north against the dunes and is part of the Natura 2000 area Duinen Den Helder-Callantsoog. On the south side, the Jan Verfailleweg is the border with the Mariëndal nature reserve.
