Monumento a la Patria

The Monument to the Homeland in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico is a stone monument erected in the mid -twentieth century to honor the Mexican homeland, totally sculpted by hand by the Colombian sculptor Rómulo Rozo, on Paseo de Montejo Avenue. The monument is one of the most iconic structures in the city and the only one in the world to be carved directly in stone.

2. Santa Lucía Park

Santa Lucia Park in Mérida, Mexico is a plaza located in the historic center of the capital city of the state of Yucatán. Along with the main square or large square of Mérida, it is the oldest in the city, dating its establishment from the very foundation of the city in 1542. It is located at the intersection of 60th and 55th streets, three streets north of the Cathedral of Yucatan.

4. Teatro Peón Contreras

The Peón Contreras Theater, built in the city of Mérida, capital of the state of Yucatan at the beginning of the twentieth century and planned by European architects, is one of the most important opera houses in Mexico. At the beginning of 1916, the First Feminist Congress of Yucatan was held there, which was also the first in the country. It is also the oldest theatrical stage in Mérida that received its first name in 1806, later renamed on December 27, 1878 at the initiative of the newspapers Semanario Yucateco and Revista de Mérida, although the current building, in the same location as the previous ones, was built later, between 1900 and 1908, inaugurated on December 21, 1908 and reopened on December 13, 1981.

5. Parque de la Mejorada

Parque de La Mejorada is the name of a square located in the historic center of the city of Mérida, in Yucatán, Mexico. It is located on 50th Street between 59th and 57th Streets in front of the former Franciscan convent of the same name, currently the headquarters of the Faculty of Architecture of the Autonomous University of Yucatan. The first railroad rail in the Yucatan Peninsula was installed in this park on April 1, 1870.

La Plancha Park is an urban park located in Mérida, Yucatán. It was inaugurated on November 19, 2023, by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the governor of Yucatan Mauricio Vila Dosal. Designed by Yucatecan architects Javier Muñoz Menéndez of the architectural design firm Muñoz arquitectos and Carlos Eduardo Quesnel Moguel de Quesnel architect and built by the Corps of Engineers of the Ministry of National Defense of Mexico.

The Palacio de la Música is a modern museum dedicated mainly to the conservation and dissemination of Mexican and indigenous music, located in the historic center of Mérida, capital city of the state of Yucatán, in Mexico. It houses the National Center of Mexican Music, a concert hall, and a virtual museum. It was inaugurated in 2018 and awarded a year later with the 2019 Work of the Year award by Obras Magazine, which annually recognizes the best architectural works in the country.
