Otaru Aquarium is a public aquarium operated by Otaru Public Aquarium Corporation, Third Sector, in Otaru City, Hokkaido, Japan. It is one of the largest aquariums in Hokkaido, and It is a member of the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums (JAZA). The aquarium is accredited as a Museum-equivalent facilities by the Museum Act from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
4. 消防犬「ぶん公」記念像
Bunkō was a Japanese mixed breed dog, famous for becoming the mascot of the Otaru city fire department. He was saved as a puppy after being found in burnt-down ruins after a fire and lived in the Otaru fire station for most of his life, being looked after by the firefighters.
5. Temiya Line
The Temiya Line was a local freight narrow gauge railroad in Otaru, Hokkaidō, Japan, connecting Minami-Otaru Station and Temiya Station. The line was a state-owned enterprise, originally established in the late 19th century to transport coal and marine products, and closed in 1985.
