Sightseeing Tours in Varese1. Museo Baroffio
The Baroffio Museum and the Sanctuary of the Sacro Monte above Varese is one of the Lombard museums of the most ancient Foundation, in fact, it was originally inaugurated in August 1900 in rooms annexed to the sanctuary of the Sacro Monte di Varese. The building in which the collection was currently exhibited was inaugurated in 1936 thanks to the bequests of the Baron Giuseppe Baroffio Dall'Aglio, from which the museum takes its name, with a setting edited by Lodovico Pogliaghi. After an almost ten -year closure was reopened in December 2001, thanks to the Paul VI Foundation for the Sacro Monte.
2. Casa Museo Lodovico Pogliaghi
The house-museum Lodovico Pogliaghi is a home-house located at the end of the Viale delle Cappelle del Sacro Monte di Varese. It was designed and built from Novo by Pogliaghi himself, and exhibits his collection of works of art including archaeological finds, paintings and sculptures dating back between the Renaissance and the Baroque era and sketches, chalks, drawings of the artist himself.
