The Oratory of Purgatory is a religious building located in Tempio Pausania, a town in Gallura, in north-eastern Sardinia. Consecrated to Catholic worship, it belongs to the diocese of Tempio-Ampurias. Its construction would be attributed to a powerful local man, Gavino Misorro, who built it at his own expense in 1679 on the imposition of the pope in exchange for forgiveness for the killing of 18 of his enemies. His initials are imprinted on the holy water font while the date of construction is shown on the architrave of the entrance portal. The church houses a large canvas attributed to the painter Giuseppe Ghezzi, who lived between 1634 and 1721.
