The archaeological site of San Genesio is located in the province of Pisa, in the municipality of San Miniato between the localities of Ponte a Elsa and La Scala. The village has been considered the settlement from which the city of San Miniato originated since the thirteenth century.
2. Santuario della Madre dei Bambini
The sanctuary of the Madonna Madre dei Bambini or Madre dei Bimbi, also known as the ancient parish church of San Giovanni Battista in Cigoli, is a Marian sanctuary located in Cigoli, a village near San Miniato. Belonging to the diocese of San Miniato, it is mentioned in ancient manuscripts belonging to the diocese of Lucca prior to the year 1000, at that time it was called "Castrum de Ceulis". 3. Torre di Federico Secondo
