The sanctuary of the Madonna Madre dei Bambini or Madre dei Bimbi, also known as the ancient parish church of San Giovanni Battista in Cigoli, is a Marian sanctuary located in Cigoli, a village near San Miniato. Belonging to the diocese of San Miniato, it is mentioned in ancient manuscripts belonging to the diocese of Lucca prior to the year 1000, at that time it was called "Castrum de Ceulis". The sanctuary is also home to the artistic nativity scene of Cigoli.

The Fortress of Frederick II is a tower built in the thirteenth century in San Miniato (PI). It was destroyed during the Second World War and rebuilt in 1958. Having become a symbol of the city, the new tower has a slightly trapezoidal plan, 37 meters high and dominates the stretch of Valdarno from a hill of 192 meters above sea level.
