The Sanctuary of the Most Holy Crucifix is a religious building located in Cosenza, in the south-west area of the city, 258 meters above sea level. The convent-church complex is vulgarly called "reform" because since the eighteenth century it was a convent of the reformed friars, one of the many Franciscan families. These favored devotion to the simulacrum of the most holy crucifix which since then showed miraculous. This devotion was increased by the Capuchin friars, to the point that, Cosentini and not, today they identify the church where they are venerated with the name of "Sanctuary of the Ss.mo Crocifisso" or more simply "Church of the Crucifix", even if it is named to Maria SS. of Constantinople.
