Sightseeing Tours in Cosenza1. Santuario del Santissimo Crocifisso

The Sanctuary of the Holy Crucifix is a religious building located in Cosenza, in the southwest area of the city, 258 meters above sea level. The convent-church complex is vulgarly called “Reformation” because since the 18th century it was convent of the Reformed Friars, one of the many Franciscan families. These favored the devotion to the simulacrum of the Most Holy Crucifix that since then showed himself miraculous. This devotion was increased by the Capuchin Friars, to the point that, cosentini and not, today identify the church where it venerates with the name of "santuario del SS.mo Crucified" or more simply "church of the Crucified", even if it is entitled to Mary SS. of Constantinople.
