The village church Osterwohle is located in the district of Osterwohle in the town of Salzwedel in the northwest of Saxony-Anhalt. It originated as a Romanesque village church, but was rebuilt in the Mannerist style and is now considered an outstanding building of this era, which represents the transition from the Renaissance to the Baroque.

2. Wüstung Jahrsau

Wüstung Jahrsau

From the 14th century until its final demolition in 1970, the Jahrsau desert (Jeebel-Jahrsau) was a circular village in Saxony-Anhalt on the former inner-German border northeast of Salzwedel. Today, the cobblestone access road leads only to an information board, fruit trees and a few overgrown remnants of walls on the former village square.
