Today, the Ilburg are the remains of a hilltop castle at 300 m above sea level on a mountain near Ilfeld in the northern part of the municipality of Harztor in the district of Nordhausen. Today, only small remains of walls and foundations remain, most of which are completely overgrown, remain of the high medieval complex.
