1. Die Erhöhung der Teichdämme
The Upper Harz Water Regale is a system of dams, reservoirs, ditches and other structures, much of which was built from the 16th to 19th centuries to divert and store the water that drove the water wheels of the mines in the Upper Harz region of Germany. The term regale, here, refers to the granting of royal privileges or rights in this case to permit the use of water for mining operations in the Harz mountains of Germany.
2. Bruchberg
At 927 m above sea level (NN), the Bruchberg in the Upper Harz is the second highest mountain in Lower Saxony and the third highest in the Harz mountains in North Germany. It lies between Altenau and Torfhaus in the middle of the Harz National Park. The Bruchberg is more like a plateau and has no real summit. This plateau is partly covered with trees, but on the sunny southern slopes the trees have largely died as a result of bark beetle infestation. Following this insect destruction, a new natural forest, rich in its variety of species, is now growing in the heart of the Harz National Park.
3. Elfenstein
The Elfenstein is a hill spur, about 475 m above sea level (NN), in the northern foothills of the Harz Mountains of central Germany and the site of the eponymous granite rock formation above the town of Bad Harzburg. It is located in the unincorporated area of Harz in the county of Goslar in the state of Lower Saxony.
4. Huthberg
The Huthberg near Romkerhalle in the unincorporated area of the Harz in the Lower Saxony district of Goslar is a 604.8 m above sea level elevation of the Upper Harz in the Harz low mountain range. There are numerous rock cliffs and formations on the mountain, and the Kästehaus mountain restaurant stood on the summit region.
5. Quitschenberg
The Quitschenberg in the Upper Harz is an 881.5 m above sea level elevation on the high altitudes of the Harz low mountain range near Torfhaus in the unincorporated area of the Harz in the district of Goslar in Lower Saxony.
6. Feigenbaumklippe
The Feigenbaumklippe is a rock formation in the Oker valley in the Harz mountains of central Germany. They lie on the hiking trail from the Kästeklippen crags to Romkerhall Waterfall. These granite rocks, which show clear signs of "woolsack weathering" (Wollsackverwitterung) are a favorite destination for hikers and offer a good view of the valley towards the west. The observation point has safety railings.
