The Thuringian Forest Zoo Gera was founded in 1962 as a small homeland animal enclosure and developed into the largest forest zoo in East Thuringia and one of the largest in Thuringia. It is located in the middle of the city forest – just outside the gates of the city of Gera – in Martinsgrund. A special feature are the deep gorges created by strong erosion.
2. Bühne am Park
The Guerra Theatre is part of the Guerra Theatre in Altenburg and is the only five types of theatre in Thuringia. The city's main theater and one of the three theater buildings is the big house.
