A giant's kettle, also known as either a giant's cauldron, moulin pothole, or glacial pothole, is a typically large and cylindrical pothole drilled in solid rock underlying a glacier either by water descending down a deep moulin or by gravel rotating in the bed of subglacial meltwater stream.

2. Astuvansalmi rock paintings

The Astuvansalmi rock paintings are located in Ristiina, Mikkeli, Southern Savonia, Finland at the shores of the lake Yövesi, which is a part of the large lake Saimaa. The paintings are 7.7 to 11.8 metres above the water-level of lake Saimaa. The lake level was much higher at the time the rock paintings were made. There are about 70 paintings in the area.

The Battle of Porrassalmi was fought near the bight of Porrassalmi in Savonia on 13 June 1789, during the Russo-Swedish War (1788–90). A Swedish force of about 750 men succeeded in stopping the northbound advance of a Russian force numbering 5,000 men.

4. Haukivuoren kirkko

Haukivuori Church is a brick church located in Haukivuori, Mikkeli. It was designed by architect Veikko Larkas and completed in 1951. The building is influenced by functionalism and medieval churches. The altarpiece of the church was painted by Veikko Vionoja and depicts the risen Christ on the island of Pátmos comforting the Apostle John.
